About Updraft
Rooted in our core principles of Mentoring, Technology, and Education. Updraft is where we prepare and support youth and developing talent.
Updraft serves youth and developing talent ages 14 to 27, including justice-impacted youth who need a different path, earlier. We meet young people where they are and help them see where their interests can take them, then walk with them as they get there.
Built on three principles
Mentoring
Mentorship is at the heart of our mission. Updraft pairs young people with Credible Messengers: mentors who have navigated the justice system themselves and transformed their lives.
Technology
Digital tools that remove barriers instead of adding them: an assessment that connects a young person’s interests to future goals, mentor matching, and the Second Square app.
Education
Workshops and learning on the skills that open doors: digital literacy, financial literacy, communication, goal setting, and career exploration.

Your plan in your pocket
Second Square is Square One’s member app. Participants keep their goals, appointments, documents, and resources in one place, and their case manager and mentors stay in the loop.
Backed by case management
Every Square One member is paired with a case manager who builds a single plan across housing, recovery, education, training, employment, and health, and stays with them from intake to independence. No bouncing between offices. No starting over with every new connection.
