More than a training program; it’s a Second Square. This workforce development program is administered by our specialists and tech.
The Journey Man is a 14-week life and workforce skills development program. Participants learn skills in fields where they may have little or no experience, mostly through on-the-job training, and leave with a plan, a mentor, and connections to work. It works hand in hand with Updraft and our reentry programming so no one has to start over when they move from one to the next.

Individual Training Plan
You and a mentor build a plan with the skills to learn and a timeline to learn them.
On-the-job training
Placement with supporting employers who train on the job, so you earn while you learn.
Curriculum & workshops
Sessions on licensing, financial management, safety, customer service, and more.
Job placement assistance
Help connecting to employers who hire on skill, plus internships and certifications.
Ongoing mentorship
Regular check-ins and feedback during the program and after it ends.
